Classic Armchairs

Classic Armchairs, Bergère Chairs and Upholstered Dining Chairs

Our classic armchairs and chairs cover several traditional seating types rather than one single shape: carved Baroque armchairs, bergère and wingback chairs, compact tub chairs, buttoned dining chairs, classic desk chairs and sculptural statement pieces. Configurable models are handcrafted in Tuscany and can be adapted in comfort, dimensions, wood finish and other construction details. For deeper hand-buttoned upholstery, compare our Chesterfield armchairs and matching Chesterfield sofas.

How to Choose a Classic Armchair or Upholstered Chair

Bergère and wingback armchairs

Camelia uses the traditional high-back bergère format with enveloping side wings, making it particularly suitable for reading corners and relaxed seating. The floral Camelia is a fixed photographed configuration, while the main Camelia model remains configurable.

Baroque and carved-wood armchairs

The Baroque and Moscow models place visible woodworking at the centre of the design. The Baroque armchair uses a finely carved frame with decorative finish options, while Moscow combines a carved solid-wood frame with a high supportive back.

Classic dining and desk chairs

Moccasin, Aurora, Italia and Teresa use narrower footprints than lounge armchairs. They are designed for dining tables, desks, meeting rooms and hospitality spaces, with different combinations of buttoning, nail trim and exposed wood.

Compact occasional armchairs

The Parisian model has a low rounded tub-chair profile, while Iris combines a higher upholstered back with exposed wooden arms. These models suit bedrooms, entrances, waiting areas and living rooms where a full-size lounge chair would be too bulky.

Statement pieces and stools

Equestra translates the silhouette of a horse saddle into an upholstered armchair with real stirrups. Lorenzo offers a tall classic stool with a worked wooden structure and buttoned seat.

Complete the living room

Coordinate these seats with our classic sofas, or choose a more strongly tufted look from the Chesterfield armchair collection.

Frequently Asked Questions About Classic Armchairs

What is the difference between a bergère and a wingback chair?

A bergère is a traditional upholstered armchair with an enveloping shape. Wingback describes the high side wings beside the backrest. Camelia combines both ideas in one high-back reading chair.

Can the configurable classic armchairs be customized?

Yes. Products marked for customization can be adapted in dimensions and selected construction, comfort and finishing details, subject to technical feasibility.

Which models work around a dining table or desk?

Moccasin, Aurora, Italia and Teresa use narrower chair proportions and higher legs, so they are better suited to tables and desks than wider lounge armchairs.

Are the photographed exact products customizable?

Products described as exact photographed configurations refer to that specific material, colour and set of dimensions. Configurable models are identified separately.
