This armchair bed provides a guest mattress inside a single-seat upholstered frame. It is useful to compare where a full sofa bed would occupy too much width but a separate sleeping platform is preferred to a chair that simply reclines.
Design, proportions and details
The closed chair measures 104 x 102 cm and is 90 cm high. Its mattress is 75 x 190 x 18 cm, and the complete open depth is 215 cm, so allow space for the unfolded bed as well as the chair.
The seat foam is specified at 35 kg/m³ and the back cushions at 23 kg/m³. Pillow storage is integrated into the back; a memory-foam mattress and a roller system are options rather than automatic inclusions in every configuration.
The 90 cm-wide seat is wider than the 75 cm mattress because the chair and bed measure different parts of the mechanism. Check both figures before assuming the closed chair width is the width of the sleeping surface.
The optional roller system concerns movement of the furniture, while the optional memory-foam mattress concerns the sleeping surface. Confirm them separately if required; neither should be inferred from a photograph of the standard chair-bed configuration.
