Serra Uniform-Grain Upholstery Leather – CAT. D

Serra leather has a buffed, uniform-grain surface and solid colour, offering an even upholstery finish that lets a furniture design’s lines remain clearly defined.

Serra uses a buffed surface with a uniform grain and solid-colour finish. It is a useful comparison when you prefer a more even covering to the visible shading of hand-antiqued or pull-up leathers.

Surface, colour and suitability

The stated thickness is approximately 1.0 mm. On the finished furniture, the perceived softness also depends on the padding beneath it, so assess the leather’s handle separately from the seat or headboard construction.

A uniform colour can emphasise piping, seams and the outline of a rolled arm. Compare samples against other materials in the room, particularly when choosing a vivid colour that will cover a large uninterrupted upholstered area.

A uniform grain does not imply that every upholstered panel has the same shape or reflected light. On Serra, buttoning, seams and padding still create visible changes across a solid colour. Category D is the VAMA upholstery price group, so it should not be read as a stand-alone wear rating for the leather.
