Choose between 110 and 120 cm sleeping widths, then compare the outside dimensions of the padded surround. Flat and domed rails require different allowances, and mattress length must be included when checking the total footprint.
The compartment is accessed by lifting the slatted base. Its finished poplar-plywood construction provides the storage body, while the opening mechanism determines how you reach inside. A side opening can require different room clearance from an end lift.
An intermediate mattress width can help preserve circulation in a narrow room, but the upholstered rails still occupy additional space. The standard flat and domed profiles add 8 and 12 cm respectively to the sleeping width and length. Confirm the exact completed size alongside the lift arrangement. Where the bed sits against a long wall, consider which edge remains accessible for opening and making the bed, rather than choosing a side lift without checking its direction and usable clearance.
This small double storage bed offers more sleeping width and more internal storage than a standard single while keeping the room visually open thanks to the absence of a fixed headboard.
