Giotto brings the Chesterfield’s buttoned texture to a circular footstool. Its rounded perimeter offers a different visual balance from square ottomans, particularly where a seating group already contains several straight edges or a rectangular rug.
Design, proportions and details
The buttoning continues around the base as well as across the top. This gives the piece a finished appearance from different positions in the room, allowing it to sit within a seating group rather than only beside a wall.
The padded surface is shaped around the circular form, and the spacing of the buttoning relates to its dimensions. Compare the diameter with the space between the seats, and choose a height that works with the chair or sofa used for foot support.
The circular top has no fixed front edge, which can make Giotto useful between angled seats. Plan the surrounding gap from its full diameter, particularly where chair arms or sofa cushions project towards the centre.
Giotto is a round footstool with deep buttoning across the upper cushion and a decorative buttoned line around the base. The circular geometry makes the upholstery work more complex than on a straight-sided model and gives the piece a softer footprint in the room.
