Single Storage Bed Without Headboard

This single storage bed concentrates on the base, leaving the wall above it free. The absence of a headboard makes it useful beneath a suitable window or beside an existing wall-mounted headboard, while the lift-up platform gives access to the compartment below.

Design, proportions and details

Sleeping widths from 80 to 100 cm are available. The padded rails add to those measurements, so use the complete outside size when fitting the bed into a recess. The flat and domed frame profiles have different allowances.

The storage construction uses finished poplar plywood around a steel-and-beech slatted base. End, side and dual-lift arrangements have different access requirements; choose the mechanism according to the clear space beside and at the foot of the bed.

A headboard-free base still needs to work with the wall behind it. If an existing panel or windowsill determines the position, compare the complete bed height with the intended mattress in place. VAMA’s standard flat surround adds 8 cm to sleeping width and length; the domed version adds 12 cm. Confirm the chosen base, feet and lifting direction so that the bed’s finished proportions and storage access suit that particular position.

This single storage bed without headboard combines a compact footprint with a full under-bed compartment. The headboard-free design is useful under windows, sloping walls or when you prefer to use your own wall panel or decorative headboard.
