Rome gives the Chesterfield an outward-flaring arm shape with studded front edges. The decorative outline draws attention to the ends of the sofa, while the raised base changes the balance between the upholstered body and the floor.
Design, proportions and details
Turned wooden feet stand 12 cm high. Their visible finish should be considered with the stud colour and covering, especially when the sofa will sit beside other exposed-wood furniture or on a light floor.
The deep-buttoned back is formed by hand over shaped padding. The timber structure supports the flared arms, and the seat cushions provide a smoother surface within the more detailed surrounding frame.
Rome’s outward-flaring arms occupy part of the overall width beyond the sitting area. Mark out the full frame and compare the stud and leg finishes together, especially if the sofa is intended for a precise gap between existing furniture.
