Chesterino brings the familiar Chesterfield silhouette into a shallower frame. The back and rolled arms retain their deep-buttoned finish, while the reduced projection leaves more room in front of the sofa for circulation or a coffee table. It is a useful starting point when a conventional club sofa feels too deep.
Design, proportions and details
The 48 cm seat depth describes the cushion area; the 77 cm overall depth includes the upholstered structure behind it. Compare both measurements with a chair you already find comfortable. The three standard widths offer different seating capacities without increasing the depth of the frame.
Hand-worked folds give this compact design its texture. Under the upholstery, the traditional VAMA Chesterfield construction combines solid fir and beech with shaped foam and elastic seat webbing. A shallow outside measurement should not be confused with a thinner or unpadded back.
A shallow sofa can help preserve a passage behind a coffee table, but the arm-to-arm width still needs to be marked out. Chesterino’s reduced depth is therefore most useful when considered together with the chosen 140, 165 or 190 cm width.
