The standard Chesterfield armchair is the starting point for VAMA’s low-back club chairs. The back and arms form a continuous upholstered outline around a separate seat cushion, with hand-worked buttoning giving the inside surfaces their characteristic depth.

Design, proportions and details
Its 110 cm width gives the arm rolls a substantial presence. Compare that overall width with the space beside a sofa or fireplace, and allow room for the chair’s 85 cm depth. For tighter positions, the Chesterina has a smaller external footprint.

The folds are shaped around the padding rather than added as surface decoration. A solid timber frame supports the upholstered form, while the seat construction and cushion are considered separately from the firmer, buttoned back and arms.
For a matching group, compare the chair and sofa using the upholstery article, colour and foot finish together. The single-seat frame has its own proportions, so a coordinated appearance still requires a separate check of the space each piece occupies.
