Florence introduces a damask motif into the leather itself. The pattern is heat-embossed and brought out through hand finishing, adding decoration across the upholstered surfaces without using a separate printed fabric on the cushions.
Design, proportions and details
The collection includes several sofa widths and an armchair. Compare the pattern on broad cushions with its appearance in the buttoned back: the folds interrupt and reshape the motif, making upholstery workmanship part of the overall effect.
Turned wooden feet stand 13 cm high and have polished brass tips. These details coordinate with the studded trim, so the metal finish and leather colour should be considered as one composition rather than independent accessories.
The damask leather is the main distinction of Florence. Because the motif is embossed into the covering, it interacts with the hand-worked folds differently from a plain leather or a separate woven damask fabric.
The brass-tipped feet remain visible beneath Florence’s upholstered body. Include them when comparing the embossed leather and stud finishes for the complete sofa.
